Helpful Hints for
Successful Toilet Training
PARENTS, WE NEED YOUR HELP! PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Dress for Success! Be sure clothing is easy to pull off and on. AVOID BUTTONS, ZIPPERS SNAPS AND BELTS DURING PERIOD.
- Consider attaching velcro tabs to overalls to make them easy for a child to undo.
- Take advantage of pull-ups with velcro side stretch panels which allow children to slip them on/off like underwear.
- Celebrate and acknowledge any signs of progress with your child.

-
Implement a "potty schedule" at home so your child gets accustomed to a routine.
-
Do not transition from pull-ups to traditional undergarments UNTIL your child can keep the pull-up consistently dry.
-
Teach your child how to count 4 toilet paper squares to avoid tearing off too much.

-
Demonstrating proper toileting habits may be necessary - don't forget proper hygeiene!
-
Limit evening liquid in-take to gain nighttime control.
-
Don't get frustrated. Be patient!!!
